Africa touched my heart
My name is Nicola, and I had the privilege of participating in HPS Charity’s 2023 mission in Tanzania. I confess that I was initially skeptical about the integrity of humanitarian missions in general, but today I must admit that I was completely wrong. During this experience, I was able to see firsthand how much commitment, effort, hard work, perseverance, and love are poured out by HPS Charity.
Experiencing the pure and unconditional love of those children has radically transformed my perspective on life. Although they have very little, their happiness is palpable, and I can guarantee that the joy and serenity reflected on the faces of those people are able to compensate for every effort. This experience opened my eyes to the relativity of the concepts of “little” and “nothing” in the context of our daily lives. Often, when we immerse ourselves in missions of this kind, we think it is an act of giving, but now I am firmly convinced that we receive much more from them. I had the honor of personally witnessing the greatness, majesty, and goodness of our Lord in ways that go beyond my imagination. This mission represented an extraordinary journey of self-discovery and spiritual renewal for me, showing me how important it is to open one’s heart to others to truly understand richness.
